The 1st Airways and Air Communications Service Squadron, Mobile distinguished itself by exceptionally meritorious service of national and inter-national significance during the period of January 1955 to November 1956.

This organization demonstrated exceptional discipline and morale in achieving a remarkable degree of military and professional competence and in maintaining an overall technical and operational record.

One of the most outstanding achievements was the contribution made toward international goodwill by the manner in which they trained and supported foreign national forces to provide airways communications, often under very difficult conditions.

The distinction with which this organization performed it's mission is in keeping with the highest traditions of the service, and brought great credit upon itself and the United States Air Force.
